Days since surgery

I always feel like somebody's watching me...

It's funny because my mom and sister have told everyone possible about me having lapband surgery and although I wasn't planning to keep it secret I do feel like everyone is going to monitor me now. I got a text from my coworker saying do you feel like you have lost weight yet, this was the day after surgery. My mom's friends are asking about weight loss, my sister's coworkers are asking if she can tell that I have lost weight yet. I better succeed because everyone and their mom is all up in my business.

I don't really feel it but as of this morning I am 31lbs down since 8/24, I am wondering when I start mushies will the scale stop moving every morning. I am not looking forward to the dreaded bandster hell and I pray Sasha has my back my first fill is scheduled for 10/7 which will be a month post op.

I am trying to come up with a realistic goal to strive for by my birthday on 12/20. It's 3 months away so would another 30 be too unrealistic. I'm going to give it more thought, also what's the exercise window post surgery, how long do I have to wait?

31 lbs in less than a month?! That is INSANE! Insanely awesome ;)

My doc said nothing but walking 6 weeks post-op.

Yep, 6 weeks for major exercising for me. You can walk though right now. Great job on the weight loss so far and expect to gain 1-2lbs when you start to eat real food. It will come right back off though.. You are kicking ass so far girl!

I agree on the 6 weeks for exercise.
I know you're awesome doll but your 12/20 goal might be a tad ambitious. This beginning period of bandland is very tricky and our bands are fickle. I had my surgery about 4 1/2 months ago and my fill last week (#5) was the first time I've felt any restriction to speak of. That's not to say I didn't lose weight in between, but I didn't feel much assistance from my band...I pretty much just dieted it off.
Just keep doing what you're doing and the weiht will come off.

While 6 wks is the normal for full blown exercise, none of the Docs put a limit on walking. I literally walked my azz off afterwards. I walked 2-3 times a day. Increasing the length by counting mailboxes in my case. I never regained any of my pre or post op weight once I started eating again & I attribute that to my walking.

it is always good to have goals, but I really suggest you not set major goals like that, especially at first, because once you hit bandster hell, you may see your losses slow or you may plateau. it is just a reality that happens and I don't want you to set yourself for disappointment. You didn't gain 30 lbs in 3 months, so don't expect to lose it all in that time. I like to take things in 5 lb, increments and just always remember that no matter how fast or slow the weight does come off, with each lb you lose, you are becoming healthier. It is not a race and if people keep asking you, I would just say "Thanks for asking...yes, I have lost weight" and if people press you for specifics, if you don't want to answer that, you can always say something like, "I've lost a little over such and such lbs". Personally I think it's really rude to ask someone for their specific loss number. I just want to look at them and ask them how much they weigh or how often they have sex. I HIGHLY doubt they'd tell me, so why should I tell THEM how much I lost. Honestly, if I wanted them to know, they already would. it's just a very personal question!

I was told 6 weeks as well before doing any crazy strenuous exercise.

I agree with everything Stephanie said. Please don't let other people push you into a race. This is about your health not how fast you can do it.
